REGNUM CHRISTI Young Adults
The Regnum Christi Young Adult (RCYA) group’s vision is to create a strong community of fully committed, Catholic young adult disciples of Christ. RCYA creates the space and environment where young adults can be free to encounter Christ in a deeper way through authentic fellowship, the power of God’s word, the sacraments, and ultimately, Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist. Our goal is to inspire other young adults to grow and mature in their relationship with God and to respond to their own Christian vocation, ultimately becoming disciples of Christ themselves. Join us as we grow together in faith.
I chose to help form the Regnum Christi Young Adults community in Houston, because I was looking for a group of people my age who share an interest in growth of holiness and virtue. It is also nice to have a group of friends I can keep in touch with, and put my job aside for a bit to focus on human and faith formation. All Catholic young adult groups have something good about them, so check us out!
After serving as a domestic missionary for a year and a half, I wanted to find a way to continue applying this "missionary mindset" to my career and relationships. Regnum Christi offers both a model for building this kind of Christ-centered life and an incredible community to provide support and accountability along the way.
Our Mission Statement
Regnum Christi Young Adults (RCYA) is a group of Catholic young professionals and college students who feel called to live our baptismal call to holiness and apostolate. We build community and deepen our spirituality through regular team meetings and larger group gatherings that incorporate prayer, formation, and time to simply hang out as friends (and perhaps play a board game or two). We apply a "missionary mindset" to our ordinary lives by finding creative ways to bring the love of Christ into our homes and workplaces, by living a life of Christian virtue and integrity, and by actively serving our neighbors here in Houston. Finally, we strive to face challenges with courage and boldness, acknowledging that following Christ requires spiritual combat in the face of evil.
